A battloid is a piloted combat mecha with a humanoid shape, although "humanoid" is a loose term. This includes mecha such as the Bioroids and Destroids and most Invid fighters. However, this term excludes armor such as the Zentraedi Powered Armors and Veritech Cyclones. This term also excludes non-piloted humanoid mecha such as drones and robots.
Technically, the term "battloid" only refers to non-transformable mecha, but is often used as a shortened form of "battloid mode," the humanoid configuration of veritech mecha.
