I am in no way being critical of the animators or their profession. I am actually appealing to those anal retentive notice everything people like me who have watched the series over and over enough to notice “THE LITTLE THINGS”. In the second episode of the Macross saga when roy disconnects Rick’s nose and cockpit section. He then takes off with it to avoid being blown to bits. In one scene when roy is in G mode the cockpit nose section is a gun pod then in another scene it is the nose cockpit section again. Just another useless observation. Not a complaint or a poke of any kind!
They were just plain Lazy! I’ll have you know that never happened in the books! The cockpit stayed the cockpit! That’s why I like the books, consistancy!:)
What a coincedence. I just watched that episode. I also noticed in “Boobytrap” Lisa tells Rick to change to ‘configuration B’ and he pulls the ‘B’ button down which turns the VT-102 into a guardian (I think this is because the G is left in the up position and B and F are both down?) Oops.
In “Force of Arms” when Exedore and Gloval first come onto the bridge, Exedore’s uniform has a belt for some reason. Then it’s gone and it doesn’t come back.
theres another, I dont remember which , where the sdf1 appears tranformed in the other way as it was supposed to be in that scene, Ill have to look it up, it only appears that way for like 3 seconds then the camera changes , then againg and there its back to how it is supposed to be
O.k.! *throwing a rock at the cartoonist* “Get a job!” * picking up another rock* ” The books are better!” *putting rock in Samirds hand and running away*
Which is why there are mistakes in the animation. It happens in live-action too! Next time you watch a movie, pay attention to the visual details and I’m sure that you’ll notice a few.
To BQMS: I noticed that too when Rick pulled B her was in Gaurdian right after that. But I think the whole idea was to show the audience that the big thing behind a veritech is that it can transform. Remember, even though he was in gaurdian mode, when he crashes into the buildings, he comes up in battliod mode. The kept him in gaurdian mode for a long duration during th crash for dramatic purposes. After all, it’s the first scene in Robotech where we get to see a veritech transform. Not trying to flame on you or anything, just trying to state that it’s not really a blooper.
Let’s remember, Macross was REALLY low budget anime originally. They had NO IDEA it would be as big as it was. ‘n yeah, I was gonna say that, sortof. Basically guardian functions as a transition phase. Or VTOL. Or rollerskates.
