Mulan might not open in China anytime soon. In response to the Wuhan coronavirus, 70,000 theaters have closed in China. Considering that foreign markets account for about 60% percent of box office revenues for Hollywood blockbusters, Disney is probably going to take a loss on its live-action Mulan.

Due to the unfolding corona virus situation, the Walt Disney Co. has decided to postpone the release of Mulan, Fast and Furious 9, the New Mutants and Antlers. The release of Marvels Black Widow (April 24) movie is still up in the air.

Just wanted to give a quick update regrading Mulan.

Disney has decided to release it on Disney Plus starting on September 4th. They claim its a one-off deal, but I think the Corona pandemic has put a serious strain on their plans to release any of their upcoming movies.

Releasing Mulan on Disney Plus might be a situation where they are testing the waters to see if they can do the same thing with their other properties.

Sadly, to stream Mulan will cost $30 dollars ... that is on top of the subscription fee for Disney Plus.

From what I gather, the movie will be added to your Disney library collection, but I don’t think it will available to you if you cancel your subscription.

Hope that helps.

I was sad to read that Mulan might not open in China anytime soon. In response to the Wuhan coronavirus as I was really looking forward to see it after getting help with my essay asap.
