One was in a hospital,  one didn’t go to the hospital,  what if things where in reverse?

It has ended! Is it really over Optimus? I mean have we seen the end of this war, forever? Who can say Spike! Is anything in this vast universe truly forever!

Probably would’ve ended up with the same result. There’s no way to know how much blood that Roy lost.

And Padme’s death was already preordained.

So was Fokker’s.  Both characters were created to die.

Fokker may have been able to be saved if he made it to hospital quickly enough.
Padme was dead either way. The medical droid even says that for reasons beyond what they can explain she was dying.
This was because Palpatine was literally using the force to siphon the life from Padme to Anakin.

So while I agree with Buried Alien that both characters in their creation by human hands were meant to die, if we are to play along with the what if game I believe Fokker has the chance for survival if he had been brought to hospital immediately, where as there is no escape for Padme regardless of where she is.

The real question for Padme is if the twins would have survived if she was not in a hospital…

While Roy’s death would fall within the typical anime big brother/ mentor/ sempai trope, we just didn’t know when it was going to happen until the title ‘Farewell Big Brother’ was announced as the next episode.

Padme’s death was already confirmed in SW ep.VI ROTJ, per comment by Leah. Again we just didn’t know the circumstances until SW ep: III ROTS.

Alas Padme’s death was a bad bit of writing honestly, if she had survived episode 3 but died in the intervening sure leia’s comment in ROTJ would make sense, but with the ROTS version? pretty sure remembering the day when you were born would be very very unusual at best….

...while Roy’s death was a trope at least it was a decently written trope without a massive lack of basic logic.

Perhaps. But you forget that Star Wars has the Force. Leah’s ‘memories’ could’ve been force echos from her mother Padame.

That would make sense if padme was force sensitive or Leia was at an age where she could even recognise the experience…

...plus there’s no mention of that happening before or after, so it’s still iffy writing at best.

Actually, there is:

In Star Wars ep.7: The Force Awakens, Rey hears Force echos from Luke’s Lightsaber, which also was originally Aniken Skywalker’s (before he became Darth Vader).

Like was force sensitive, padme was not, the lightsaber required contact, not exactly an option with Leia…

...and frankly even if both were true, explain the lack of any such thing happening to Luke…

...it still makes no sense.

Actually, we don’t know if Padame was Force sensitive or not. Nothing is ever said in that regard.

Also, Luke didn’t seem to have the same innate Force abilities that Rey has shown. His had to be nurtured and trained; while Rey, without any training, defeated Kylo Ren
