Hello Everyone,

While the forums were down Harmony Gold signed a deal with UK based Titan Comics to take over our comic license. We are very excited to be working with Titan on the new Robotech comic series due out August 2nd. (Sadly there was an issue beyond Titan’s/HG control that forced them to push back the release date 1 week)

UPDATE: Titan Comics has announced that Transformers writer Simon Furman will be joining the writing team for the Robotech comic book for Titan Comics, alongside the existing series writer Brian Wood.

More info here: https://www.bleedingcool.com/2017/07/28/simon-furman-write-robotech-comics-titan/

Awesome, I pre-ordered my copy on Google Play Books.  I have not read any of the comics so I guess this is a good time to start!

I’m getting the new series through Google Books, but it’s this bit that has me really excited! I get to complete the Comico run? To steal a line from a song - it don’t get any better!

Well, this semi-remake is slightly intriguing. But like I have seen many other express before, I would also like to see new stories. Stories spread over all three of the sagas. Stories that matter in the end and are not pointless side-stories. That’s what I hope to see from Titan.

Some reviews of issue one:

http://www.snappow.com/comics/comic-reviews/robotech-1-review/

With a high caliber creative team and a clear love for the original series, this is one title from Titan that more than earns a spot on your pull-list.

Anyone who was hoping for a fresh and innovative reboot of this property is going to be sorely disappointed.

Overall, a great reboot for a great franchise.

Opens with a promising start ... I’ll be tuning in next issue, but my expectations are not terribly high.

If you’re a fan of the original, you’ll love this; if you’ve never seen the anime and want to know what all the fuss is about, this is a great place to start.

Paid Reviews are one thing, this comic is just awful.  I duno what to do with it now….. Seriously, What Happened…...... The Artwork is worse that what CBS did to the Klingons in Star Trek Discovery…........ and that’s saying a lot.

What does he know about Protoculture?

Having attended the London Film and Comic Con and getting the chance to speak to Simon Furman after it was announced he’d be writing for the Robotech comic from issue #5 onwards, he told me that he is a fan of the franchise. During his time working for Marvel on the Transformers comic, he wasn’t a fan of that franchise (at the time) because he felt it was aimed at children (which back in the 80s it was to be fair) but he enjoyed the Robotech series as he liked the serialized story telling, the drama and the fact that it wasn’t afraid to kill off characters.
