I found this clip on youtube, its Kevin Smith explaining how he was commissioned by Warner Bros to write a script for a new “Superman Reborn” movie that never got made.

The way he tells the story is hilarious, and it definitely explains why certain “stupid decisions” are made when a movie is being put together.

Honestly Superman fighting a giant robot spider might have been pretty cool. Some of the producer’s other ideas, not so much.

The “Jon Peters” of Kevin Smith’s story was also the producer on “Man of Steel.

So ... did anyone notice that in the third act of the movie, when Superman fights Zod’s World Engine—its basically a Giant Spider machine.  :101:
