If you plan on attending the 2012 San Diego Comic con, you need to set up your official membership online (if you haven’t already done so) in order to be able to purchase your passes to the convention when they become available.

Just hope that this time I can get a pass. Missed out on the 2011 convention.

Also, forgot to mention that the deadline to set up your membership is Feb. 28.

Online volunteer registration is now open! Space is limited so please follow the direction below to apply today:

Visit https://secure2.comic-con.org/memberid/ and login to your Member ID account.  At the bottom of the “Member ID Change Menu” you will see a Volunteer button next to “Volunteer for Comic-Con 2012”. Click this button and complete your application. You do not have to enter your contact information as we already have that information on file from your Member ID account.

When volunteer registration closes, the Volunteer Department staff will go through the applications and prioritize first by returning volunteers, then by new volunteer applicants (starting with earliest date/time stamp). Confirmations will be sent to those who are accepted into the program within 10 business days. “Not Accepted” notices will also be sent within 10 business days.

Just checked the Comic Con website and regestration for volunteers is now closed.

That was quick. I just got the e-mail yesterday, but I was out of town.

Comic Con sold out already! In just a few hours. Now I have to wait for the oppertunity to get a returned pass. This is so stupid. There must have been a run on the memberships. Shit! it looks like I’m going to miss the Comic Con again for a 2nd. year.

things went a lot smoother this year. Last year was a total disaster, I too missed buying my ticket the first time out, but was able to buy one of the returned passes when they went up for sale.
Don’t know if this will help you or not, but I was able to find out when the refund tix were on sale by following comic con on twitter. I’m pretty sure if I had just waited to check my email the following morning I would have found out too late…
