Exactly.  But the implications Issue #12 make about her status in this timeline are interesting.  Particularly, I think, in how they seem to have tried to avoid drawing attention to it.

“Competing outside forces”—very interesting take, X1
There certainly is more here to this series than is on the surface. Puts a new spin on the whole “alternate universe/timeline” we often see used for retelling stories such as these.

I figured Rick’s eye “problems” would end up aiding him in some way with the Veritech, but this is going to a whole other level.
I wonder if he’s able to start seeing both timelines happening concurrently or anything crazy like that.

I’m really interested to see how bad Roy (or maybe he’s good?) starts moving about the crew and if he is able to go undetected. Couldn’t be for long though, because Claudia has seen the security footage, so if Roy is confronted now there is no chance of mistaken identity. Claudia may have to be very careful with how she moves forward—we already know he’s not afraid to kill.

Wow, Roy is still alive. That was a surprise to see him with Dr. Lazlo Zand. A new chick in Vermillion Squadron to take Ben’s place. Her last name is Satori, wonder if she is related to Nova. Khyron and Azonia scheming together to kill Breetai.
This is getting pretty interesting. Can’t wait for the next issue.

Yeah. This is all getting pretty interesting so far. I’m dying to get my hands on the next issue. Things are going to start getting a lot more interesting now.
I knew I recognized the name Satori and it just wasn’t clicking..! I need more coffee.

I’m extremely happy with how this comic is being handled and the new direction it’s taking.

Maybe her mother?  And I’m guessing that Miriya is going to be sent in to assassinate someone.

It’s fun to see the Bridge bunnies meeting the Zentreadi Spies, and learning that they haven’t received further instructions for a while, and fear that their mission has ended prematurely.

OMG!!! Can’t wait til next issue. I feel like that one may finally have some answers. Loving what they are doing so far. Also I’m liking Hendry Pratseya’s art style more than Marco Turini’s.

Amen!

Nothing against Marco, but the style was just a bit too jarring at times; especially the facial expressions.

I’m glad they switched gears in the artwork department, as it was the only gripe I had with the series. The new style, for me anyways, elevates it from “four stars” to full “five stars”

What are the odds the Titan Comic is inspired by the live action movie script?  What if the Titan Comic is market research for the live action movie?  What if the Titan Comic is pre-promotion for the live action movie?

I assume and I hope any live action film would stay true to the original series.

I wouldn’t be surprised.  Frankly, I’m glad that we’re finally exploring ideas that couldn’t be explored with the original series.  It’s moving Robotech away from it’s Macross roots without completely ignoring them either.  To me, they’ve managed to build on the foundation while honoring it’s original story.

Hello all.  Spoiler alert for issues 1-6 ending Feb 2018.

Just a quick re-cap of some re-imagined events or plot twists that have been printed thus far and have been discussed in this thread.

In Issue 1, on page 11, Captain Gloval surprises Lisa and Claudia by classifying radar contacts as enemy targets.

In Issue 2, on pages 22-23 (?), Captain Gloval already knows the SDF-1 overshot the moon and is near Pluto.  He also already knows the fold generators have vanished before Dr. Lang knows it.

In Issue 4, on page 5, in a flashback to the crash landing of the SDF-1 on Macross Island, Admiral Donald Hayes and Roy Fokker discover the human bridge crew deceased on the bridge.  In the original timeline they should be finding deceased Zentreadi.  On page 9 Captain Gloval already knows Dr. Lang is about to suggest a modular transformation to enable the main gun.  On page 10 Captain Gloval informs Lisa to initiate the transformation if he is unavailable implying he plans on being unavailable.  On page 14 Captain Gloval again knows what Dr. Lang is about to say and Gloval mysteriously replies he will handle it personally.  This plot point remains a mystery to the reader.  Gloval is killed while seeing to this task.  There is a small possibility a clone of Gloval is killed but I am pretty sure Gloval himself is killed.

In Issue 5, on page 9, Roy Fokker almost uses the word Zentreadi and instead rephrases using the word “aliens” instead.  On page 17, Roy states to Claudia three people know the secret of the SDF-1.  I assume the 3 people are Gloval, Fokker, and Claudia onboard the SDF-1.  Admiral Donald Hayes would also know supposedly but he is on Earth.

In Issue 6, on page 11, a Mary Poppins type character tells Minmei to tell Rick presumably she loves him.  It’s just an odd scene.  Finally, I assume the protoculture ghost of Karl Riber in Issue 5 and 6 is a manifestation of the shapings.

This Titan series is fun.  One weird timeline paradox for this storyline is assuming Dr. Lang is the wizard of Robotechnology and reverse engineered Zor’s ship into the SDF-1, he would’ve had 10 years to notice someone already adapted Zor’s ship to micronian specifications.  I am referring to the flashback scene in Issue 4 of Admiral Hayes and Roy discovering the deceased bridge crew.  However, I can overlook minor details like this for the joy of the ride Lol!

There hasn’t been 1 mention of the Masters so far as far I am aware.  I’m somewhat worried that they may skip that generation, but I’m hoping that they take a real try at it.  Wouldn’t it be interesting if the portal actually sent the probe into the future?  What if that was a future Roy we saw?  We won’t have too long until the next one, it’s supposed to come out next week from what I’ve read on their website, but given how this one was 2 weeks late, I’ll be skeptical until its at my comic store.

Yeah, not long so we’ll see. I think I remember a mention of the Masters in one of the issues, but I’d have to dig through the past issues to be certain. Maybe this weekend if I get some spare time I can double check haha.

You are probably correct Focus Fate.  In Issue 7 on Page 13, Khyron mentions crushing “our impotent ruling elite.”  Oddly, on this same page Khyron and Grel are being hailed by the SDF-1.

Spoiler Alerts for Issues 7 to 12 ending September 2018.

In Issue 7 on pages 6 to 7, Dr. Lang reports a rupture in space time to Captain Lisa Hayes.  I’m not sure if the rupture is inside the SDF-1, in Pluto space, or in Mars space as related to research and development at Mars Base.  Mars Base took technology from Zor’s Battlefortress and was using it to cloak ships.  This rupture is increasing in size.  On pages 10 to 11, Lisa tells Roy she knows the secrets he and Captain Gloval knew.  On page 13 Khyron seems to reference the Robotech Masters and Grel receives a transmission from the SDF-1.

In Issue 8 on page 23, T. R. Edwards is in custody inside the SDF-1.  On page 24 Claudia watches security footage from a vending machine drone which shows Roy murdering Captain Gloval.

In Issue 9, Brian Wood is no longer credited as a writer.  On page 10 the Invid are seen in Breetai’s flashback.  On page 11 Breetai references the Masters with an antagonistic attitude toward them similar to Khyron’s reference in Issue 7.  In Issue 9 and onwards, Dolza seems to be a hologram.  In the re-imagined story arc of Vermillion squad’s capture and escape, they do not seem to fold to Dolza and back to our solar system.  Instead, Dolza simply skypes them.

In Issue 10 on page 24, Dr. Lang sends a probe into the space time rupture and it seems to show a wormhole to the Invid Regess as she detects the probe in her near space.

In Issue 11 on page 13, Dr. Lang seems to detect the protoplasmic nature of the Invid while being monitored by Lazlo Zand who seems to have foreknowledge of the Invid already.  On pages 19 to 20, Breetai confides in the captive micronians he believes their assertions of ignorance of protoculture.  He asks for their help in defeating the Invid.  Dolza and Azonia must assume the micronians are hiding something.

In Issue 12 on page 24, a clone of Roy or alternate timeline Roy or evil doppelganger Roy seems to kill/stun good Roy.

Stay tuned.

As Lisa scrolls through the base computer’s list of members for Riber, the names of ‘Bernard’ and Rush’ are also listed too.

Nice catch.  This is seen in Issue 5 on page 22.

I am getting way into the weeds here but there have been two characters named Sparks in Robotech.  One is in Episode 38 False Start and another in Episode 84 Dark Finale.  In Issue 8 page 5 a character with no likeness to either previous Sparks but similar job duties introduces himself as Sherwin Parkes.  In Issue 13 he is given a Cast of Characters Panel and is nicknamed “Sparks” even though he sees no action in the comics apart from Issue 8 and Issue 12.

Spoiler Alert for Issue 9.

Kramer is referenced in Episode 2 Countdown as a member of Skull Squadron.  In Issue 9 on page 15, Roy assigns him to escort Captain Hayes and Vermillion Squad as they return to Mars to investigate a transmission after the destruction of Mars Base.

Not sure why they had to include a reference to the Canadian Trudeau government (I’m not a fan), but appreciate the nod to the current political climate in Canada.

Maybe one of my favorite issues so far, especially at the end with Miriya chasing Max and Persy and Zand summoning the Invid.  What a change in the storyline that makes!
