Subject: SUMMIT ON ANIME IN NORTH AMERICA in Denver, CO : March 23rd, 2013
Started on: February 8, 2013 - 3:52:00 PM

Harmony Gold is pleased to announce that it will be attending the first ever Summit on Anime in North America (S.A.N.A.) in Denver, Colorado on March 23rd.

The Summit on Anime in North America is an event done in partnership with Rocky Mountain Animation Association and the Consulate-General of Japan on a directive from government of Japan. S.A.N.A.'s task is to answer a seemingly-easy question, but itís the first time the Japanese government has explored it: why is anime so popular in North America? Is it the culture, the quality of animated work, the storylines, or perhaps something so intrinsic itís impossible to truly define?

S.A.N.A. will be held on March 23, from approximately 10 AM to 6 PM. The morning session will devote time for individual presentations from North America anime industry leaders, in single 45-60 minute time slots. The afternoon session of the event will be a moderated roundtable discussion between all panelists (supplemented with questions from the audience).

* Kevin McKeever: Vice President of Marketing for and Direcotr of the Robotech Convention Tour.

* Sarah Sullivan: convention representative and industry ambassador for FUNimation Entertainment.

* Chris Bevins: North American voice actor, script adapter, producer and ADR director.

* Jerry Beck: noted animation historian and the first U.S. distributor to import anime features such as Otomoís Akira and Miyazakiís Laputa: Castle In The Sky.

* Dr. Ian Condry: cultural anthropologist and author, current Associate Professor of Japanese Cultural Studies at MIT.

* Alisa Freedman: author and Associate Professor of Japanese Literature and Film, University of Oregon.

Location, badge prices and schedule information on this important event will be posted very soon.
