I've watched the original series Macross before Robotech was produced, and because it was Japanese I never really had the understanding what the story is all about, but here is a man, a pioneer a visionary who conceptualized combining all three different anime titles into one. It made me wait in anticipation good things to come for the series. We owe you a lot Mr. Macek, provided us probably your BEST WORK of all time
and no one can replicate what you did. WE WILL MISS YOU. Our prayers go to your family and loved ones. Rest in Peace.

Like many others, I grew up watching ROBOTECH and loved every episode.
You gave something very special to this world, and we'll always owe you.
Our sincerest condolences to your family.
Farewell and may God bless you Carl!

Found out that Mr. Macek has passed away, truly I am sad and I wish his family and loved ones well.

Mr. Macek you definitely changed my childhood with Robotech. Felt kind of left out since I was introduced to Robotech as a kid in the late 90's unlike other members here. But regardless of that thank you for your hard work and contribution to the anime industry. Ur legacy will be forever remembered.

My condolences to the Macek family! Gone but not forgotten, your work will live on...

Everytime I watch or think about Robotech the Macross Saga, what comes to mine is the greatest animation story daytime cartoon has ever produced. I salute/thank you Mr. Macek for all your work and contributions to Robotech. Your work bought me so much joy and happiness during my childhood! You truly took us "to the stars and beyond"

He was so epic. He was the only hero i ever had. I doubt if we will ever see the likes of him again. With this politically correct world we live in now. such greatness would probably not be allowed to be showed to us. I had tears watching the 3 videos. But i'm glad i did. Oh, how i wish he was still here with us all.

This man was a legend. A father to us who was old enough to watch Robotech on cable TV back in the day. He delighted my afternoons after school and also till this day. I am a huge fan of anime and I owe it all to that man. Mr. Macek, thank you so very much for Robotech and so many others. Rest In Peace!

He was the man who introduce me to anime through Robotech.
My journey started with it thanks to him back in 1996.
Now I still watch anime but thanks to him it is now more easily available to people who don't speak japanese.
He started the revolution now this generation have to carry it on.
You will be throughly missed.
Rest is peace.
All non-native anime fans will miss a great soul.

He will be dearly missed and he was taken far before his time. I am appreciative for him bringing Robotech to life. There can be no others like it. It stands alone as the perfect anime, drama, and story. There is much more that Robotech will do in the coming years, but it will always be remembered as Mr Carl's! He single handedly brought japanese anime to all of us to the USA...thank you sir, may I have the pleasure of seeing you on the other side!

It is not often a person can find a work to do in life that he loves. You, Carl Macek, did just that and brought us all along for one heckuva ride.

He will never really be gone as long as we keep Robotech alive as I am sure he would have liked.

I am the duel-wielding-nun-chuck-chain-axe-berserker-of-bunny-earred-death of the Dark Fin!!!

If something takes more than 10 plasma cannons to take it down, maybe you should leave it alone
